<Help/FAQ> |
How many ads can I submit? |
This is best answered by your own discretion. Our statistics show that on average there are 19 searches of our database for every ad that is submitted. Therefore, when submitting an ad you should be considerate of the other 94% of visitors who are searching through the ads. If it were you searching through the database looking for something specific, how impressed would you be - constantly encountering that same, perhaps non-relevant, ad over and over again?

<Help/FAQ> |
"This ad has already been placed" |
Every ad in our database has its own unique identifier, which is generated when you first 'Submit' your ad. This error will occur when you either try to Reload/Refresh the 'New Ad Received' page or step Back to the 'Final Check' page and click 'Finish My Ad' again. However, you can place another ad without having to re-enter your information all over again. From the 'New Ad Received' page, step Back twice to the original submission page - all of your original data (except the password) should still be there. You can then edit this data as required and click 'Submit', you will again be taken to a 'Final Check' page where you can click 'Finish My Ad' once you have double checked the ad.

"Invalid Form Field" |
The web page you had used to search the ads, submit an ad or delete/modify your ad was an unauthorised copy and not from our official web site. Please e-mail us with the URL of where you found this page.
If it was your own unauthorised copy of our web pages, perhaps you may be less inclined to contact us, so how about you replace the page(s) with at least one of our fantabulous banners linking to our site instead.

<Help/FAQ> |
"Illegal Character" - '&' symbol |
While the '&' character is a common character used by many, it is a character that has significant meaning to our program, and could cause our program to malfunction if we allow it through. If you encounter this error when trying to submit an ad, check your ad closely in all fields including your password, to ensure you did not type the '&' character in any of them. If you did, simply replace the '&' character with the word 'and'.
If you can not find the '&' character, there is another reason why you may encounter this error when trying to submit an ad. Did you draft your Ad Details (or perform a spell-check) in a late version Word Processor? Then copying and pasting it into our Submission Form? If so, the error is most likely coming from Word Processor special characters such as, an extra long hyphen, 'Smart-Quotes', bullets, smilies, copyright symbols, etc. These special characters can not be generated by a web browser and have special ASCII values that could cause our program to malfunction. Because these special characters vary between different brands of Word Processors and Text Editors our program presently can only display them an '&' symbol. So check through your Ad Details, and any other fields, replacing extra long hyphens to normal hyphens, 'Smart-Quotes' to normal quotes, bullets to asterisk *.

"Illegal Character" - '@' symbol |
While the '@' character may have some practical use outside of an e-mail address, it is a character that has significant meaning to our program, and could cause our program to malfunction if we allow it through. If you encounter this error when trying to submit an ad, then check your ad closely in all fields including your password, to ensure the only place where the '@' character is used is within a valid e-mail address. If the '@' character has been used in any other format replace it with the word 'at'.

"Illegal Character" - '~' symbol |
While the '~' character may have some practical use outside of a valid web site URL, it is a character that has significant meaning to our program, and could cause our program to malfunction if we allow it through. If you encounter this error when trying to submit an ad, then check your ad closely in all fields including your password, to ensure the only place where the '~' character is used is within a valid web site URL. If the '~' character has been used in any other format you will need to remove it or replace it with a hyphen '-'.
